Lindsay Lohan was photographed at Los Angeles International Airport looking confused.  Reports claim the star spent the last week partying, perhaps she’s just really hung over.

Whatever the cause of the actresses consternation, Lohan left Los Angeles Friday for London, England.  Lohan was set to appear at Armani’s runway show in Milan, Italy, this weekend.  No word if she actually made the show…yet. Lohan has been rather unpredictable in her appearances for years.  She was just recently dumped for an escort gig by an almost 80 year old Austrian business man, Richard Lugner.  Lugner decided to replace Lohan with a man.

Check back with us for more.

Voters are still unsure about Tories, admits Cameron

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Leader tries to calm party election jitters as poll lead crumbles to two points

David Cameron was forced to admit today that Britain harbours doubts about the Conservatives and conceded the party still faces a “real fight” if it is to persuade voters that the Tories are ready for government.

Amid jitters among senior Conservatives over their slump in the opinion polls, Cameron warned delegates they still have to answer big questions about what the party stands for and whether it has the vision to run the country.

In his last speech to a Tory conference before the election, Cameron said elections are never handed out on a plate as he responded to concerns that the party’s campaign is faltering.

“We all know that the British people have still got some big questions that they want to ask us, and that we’ve got to answer,” Cameron told the spring forum in Brighton in a 40-minute speech delivered without notes.

“Are you really up to it? Are you really going to make that difference?”

He attempted to address the concerns by claiming that the party had modernised and would rebuild “broken” Britain by reforming public services and tackling the record £178bn fiscal deficit at a faster rate than Labour.

Voters, he insisted, would embrace change because they would not want another five years of Gordon Brown, a man engaged in a “dangerous dance of death that is dragging this country down”. Cameron added: “I want you to think of the incredible dark depression of another five years of Gordon Brown and say no, no, we’re not going to do that.”

In a highly personalised attack on the prime minister, Cameron said: “What sort of genius is it that doubles the national debt? What sort of genius is it that takes one of the best pension systems in the world and wrecks it?

“That’s not genius, that’s incompetence and at this coming election we are going to out your record and tear it apart piece by piece.”

Yvette Cooper, the work and pensions secretary, denounced the speech as vacuous, and Chris Huhne, for the Liberal Democrats, said it was short on detail.

It appeared that Cameron’s only major new policy announcement – that the Tories would set out proposals to recognise marriage in the tax system in their election manifesto – caused some surprise within the shadow cabinet.

One shadow minister said: “I have to say this did come as a surprise to me. I knew we would be setting out our plans. I just didn’t know that David would be indicating that now.”

Senior Tory sources denied that Cameron had slipped up as he addressed his biggest mistake of the year. In a BBC interview in January, he said the public finances were in such a poor position it may not be possible to deliver the marriage commitment in the lifetime of the next parliament. He quickly corrected this.

Concerns at senior levels of the party that the leadership is struggling in the face of worrying polls were fuelled when a YouGov poll in the Sunday Times showed the Tory lead has fallen to just two points. It put the Tories on 37%, with Labour on 35% and the Liberal Democrats on 17%.

Senior figures said the leadership had run into trouble because it failed to refine its message. Shadow ministers believe the party did, however, successfully identify six core messages this weekend: dealing with the debt, boosting enterprise, making Britain the most family-friendly country in Europe, backing the NHS, raising standards in schools and changing politics.

The Tory leader also confronted one of Brown’s main criticisms of him – that he is a salesman – to burnish his credentials as an optimist. “Gordon Brown sometimes says that I’m a bit of a salesman. And do you know what? I plead guilty … because in this country, with all our difficulties, we are going to need some salesmanship. I want to get out there and sell our country to the world, say these are the companies you should be doing business with, this is the place you should be investing in.”

Can Idina Menzel Be Rachel’s Mom On ‘Glee’?

Idina Menzel Celebrity casting news is nothing new with GleeNeil Patrick Harris and Jennifer Lopez are among the stars who have already signed on to guest star — but rumors about Idina Menzel’s guest role have us giddy with excitement.

The show has already announced that Idina will play the director of rival glee club Vocal Adrenaline, but the New York Daily News’s Rush & Molloy hints that the Broadway star’s character may also be Lea Michele’s character’s biological mom. Perhaps fittingly, one of Lea’s big numbers on Glee has been “Defying Gravity,” a song from Wicked made popular by Idina. And, the two women do look similar as well. We love the idea of Rachel dealing with meeting her mom. What do you think about this possible plot development?

8 Down/44 To Go! — Now take me down [ me ]

[+] I first want to thank [info] flautapantera for the totally unexpected but totally cherished VGIFT she sent! I’m touched beyond belief. Thanks so much dear!!!! ♥

[+] I guess what got me through the week was looking forward to the fun run (5K) I ran on Sunday morning. My brother [info] veganpunk_ ran the 10K (in an hour!) and is in general great shape so it was great to have someone wake up extremely early with me and trek to Manila for the run. I wanna do it again!

Ask Me A Question

Oh and I know I’m totally late to this formspring bandwagon, but ask me questions, will you? I just realized just how fun this could be if I actually did it. Anonymous or not, though I’d love to know who was asking, of course.

[+] I hope everyone has a better week ahead. February’s over. How fast is that?!?

Monday

Why do my siblings NOT have class and I have to go to work? Was the EDSA Revolution not for everyone? Either way, it wasn’t such a bad day at work. It’s crazy how monotonous work can be that when the tissue dispensers in the bathroom get changed, it’s a totally BIG event for us me. Oh the boring life of an office worker. But the BAFTAs sure were a great way to start the week.

Tuesday

Despite getting kicked around in the train and totally trampled on, on the way to work, the rest of the day wasn’t so bad at all. Plus, getting to chat with PB after forever felt really good. With the sister joining him in a few weeks, I’ll be the only one of the older 3 left among the siblings. It’s sort of settling in that my sister is leaving but it’s not like I won’t get to visit them in Singapore. Must save up, now!

Wednesday

I haven’t been out of the house (to a mall) with my parents in forever. I’m just really lazy to go out on weekends. So it was a good thing I got home really early and got to catch a movie with my folks. Sure, it wasn’t the movie we thought we were entering (for some reason we mixed up “Armoured” and “Edge of Darkness” but it ended up being entertaining as well.

Thursday

For some reason I was exhausted when I got home from work despite it not being such a hectic day — I even drove to work but I wiped out. I literally collapsed when I got home, not even getting to eat dinner on time. I usually don’t wake up anymore so it’s a good thing my mom woke me up for the 11pm American Idol — though I’m really not impressed by the lot this year.

Friday

It feels so good to finally reach Friday. It felt like it would never come this week. My manager wasn’t feeling so well so she took half the day off but really, I was just counting down the hours till I could finally go home and veg and do nothing. My sister has flown off to Shanghai for vacation before her eventual Singapore move and I wonder how long it’ll take before I’ve saved up enough to travel.

Saturday

Lazy me actually got out of the house to have lunch with birthday girl Kim. She took her university in the US so I’d only see her during the summer but now that she’s here to work for a bit, it would be a shame if we didn’t see each other more often. We had a HUGE lunch at Cyma and just talked for hours. It was so good to catch up and get out of the house. I really do miss her.

Sunday

So much for running a 5K in 50 minutes (lame, I know — but the point is, I survived). I ended up eating a WHOLE lotta lunch and even more during our dinner out with the grandmas in Kimpura (Japanese). It felt really really good to run again, and I kinda miss it. If only I actually did the running in between these silly fun runs I join, then maybe my time would improve.
